Liriano, a 21-year-old outfielder from the Dominican Republic, is a talented potential five-tool player. He spent last season divided between High-A (74 games) and Double-A (53 games), hitting .280/.350/.417 with eight homers, 61 RBI, 65 runs and 32 stolen bases.
This injury is a big blow to his development. Instead of hitting Triple-A this season -- and maybe even the majors -- he'll head into next spring as a 22-year-old who has only played 53 games above Class A.
