Rafael Soriano has visa, headed to Nationals camp

Thursday, we learned that newly-signed Nationals closer Rafael Soriano wasn't yet in camp with his teammates, due to a delay with his work visa. Friday, though, it appears everything is resolved. Soriano has obtained his visa and is en route to camp. The Nationals expect him to arrive Saturday, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Soriano, 33, signed a two-year, $28 million deal with the Nationals this past offseason after opting out of the third and final year of his contract with the Yankees. He saved 42 games in 46 chances with a 2.26 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 67 2/3 innings last season, as he took over closing duties once Mariano Rivera went down with a torn ACL.

So Soriano will be reporting to camp a few days late, but that's not really a big deal. He'll work himself into closing shape in plenty of time to anchor the back of the Nationals' stellar bullpen.
