Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson and Reds manager Dusty Baker didn't see eye to eye Monday prior to a Cactus League game, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.

Gilbert notes that the two managers had a dispute over whether or not to use the designated hitter in Monday's game. Baker wanted to use the DH so he could have Shin-Soo Choo -- and his balky quad muscle -- get some at-bats without having to play in the field. Gibson, meanwhile, wanted to have his starting pitcher, Brandon McCarthy, get some at-bats, as he's moving from the AL to the NL this season.

Given that the home team decides, Gibson got his way and there was no DH. McCarthy got one plate appearance and grounded out to the catcher. Choo was relegated to the bench. And it would appear Baker was none too happy about the decision:

Obligatory snark: This was definitely a gritty decision by Gibby.
