Marlins' Kolby Copeland suspended for refusing to take drug test

By Mike Axisa | Baseball Writer

Marlins outfield prospect Kolby Copeland has been suspended 50 games for refusing to take an offseason drug test, reports MLB.com's Danny Wild. The suspension will begin at the start of the regular season, and it is unpaid.

Copeland, 19, signed for $367,200 as Miami's third-round pick in last summer's draft. He hit .280/.333/.397 with four stolen bases in 262 plate appearances after turning pro last year. MLB.com ranked Copeland as the team's 16th-best prospect a few weeks ago.
