Wilkin Ramirez makes 5,000,000th appearance in baseball history

Outfielder Wilkin Ramirez is a 27-year-old journeyman who was a pretty good prospect with the Tigers once upon a time. He made the Twins' opening day roster, and when he pinch hit for Pedro Florimon on Monday, he made some history:

The 5,000,000th appearance in Major League Baseball history is pretty far out there, but bravo to the wonderful people at Baseball-Reference.com for tracking this. Ramirez may never be a household name, but no one else will ever make the 5,000,000th appearance in history.
