The Red Sox have placed right-hander John Lackey on the 15-day DL, the team announced. Right-hander Alex Wilson was called up from Triple-A to fill the roster spot. The team also confirmed that Stephen Drew was activated off the DL and Jose Iglesias was sent to the minors.

Lackey, 34, suffering the injury during his start on Saturday. He left the game immediately, and an MRI on Sunday confirmed a right biceps strain with no structural damage. Lackey missed all of 2012 due to Tommy John surgery.

The Red Sox are planning to move swingman Alfredo Aceves into the rotation for the time being, reports WEEI.com's Alex Speier. Aceves will start Thursday, with Felix Doubront getting pushed back a day to Friday.

Wilson, 26, was Boston's second-round pick in the 2009 draft. He allowed three runs in 2 2/3 innings at Triple-A before being recalled for what will be his first taste of the big leagues. Wilson went 5-3 with a 3.72 ERA and 9.7 K/9 in 72 2/3 relief innings for the team's Triple-A affiliate last year.
