Veteran right-hander Chien-Ming Wang, whom the Yankees signed to a minor-league contract in late March, will make his 2013 debut on Friday when he takes the mound for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yanks' Triple-A affiliate. The team made the announcement on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old Wang spent 2012 with the Nationals and logged a 6.68 ERA across five starts and four relief appearances. Wang pitched for the Yankees 2005-09 and went 55-26 with a 107 ERA+ while in pinstripes. In reality, though, Wang hasn't been the same pitcher since enduring severe shoulder problems and subsequently undergoing major shoulder surgery during the 2009 season.
