The Rays have agreed on a deal with Darrelle Revis--he'll throw out the ceremonial first pitch before tonight's game vs. the Yankees.— Tampa Bay Rays (@RaysBaseball) April 22, 2013
If you don't really pay attention to football, the joke there is that Revis and the Jets were unable to come to an ageement on a long-term contract extension, essentially forcing the trade. His new six-year deal with the Bucs is worth $96 million, but reportedly none of it is guaranteed. That would never fly in baseball. Nearly every MLB contract is guaranteed.
