I'm not sure if there is a more exciting play in baseball than the straight steal of home plate. Triple plays, grand slams, rocket outfield throws ... all of that is fun as well, but stealing home tops them all in my opinion.
On Friday, infielder Josh Harrison pulled off the rare straight steal of home while with the Pirates Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. Here's the video:
The pitcher, B.J. Rosenberg of the Phillies' Lehigh Valley affiliate, was simply caught napping. Harrison got a phenomenal jump and was running home before the right-hander even started his windup. That's awesome.
The 25-year-old Harrison had 11 steals in 175 games with the Pirates over the last three years. The team sent him to Triple-A this month.
