Rockies right-handed Jhoulys Chacin has been out since straining his back on April 19. However, as MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports, the Rockies expect to activate Chacin in time to start Sunday against the Rays in Coors Field.
The Rockies made the decision after Chacin looked strong in an extended spring-training game on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old ace this season boasts a 1.46 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 2.67 K/BB ratio across four starts. For his career, Chacin owns an impressive ERA+ of 130 in 436 innings.
It's not yet certain what corresponding move the Rockies will make in order to create room for Chacin on the active roster.
