There is nothing more scrappy than sliding head-first into first base. And there is nothing that says "trying way too hard" than sliding head-first into first and not actually making it to the base. Jae-ho Hong of the Kia Tigers in Korea did just that on Tuesday:
Maybe it's just me, but it sure seems like baseball in Korea and Japan is a lot more fun than it is in MLB. Players always seem to be goofing off and stuff. Baseball in the U.S. is very serious business compared to the leagues in Asia.
