Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez was attempting to go from first to third on an A.J. Ellis single in the sixth inning against the Giants Friday night when he started to slow about halfway between second and third.
He was thrown out at third base and immediately grabbed the back of his left leg right above the knee area. The Dodgers have since announced officially that it's a left hamstring injury. Beyond that,
Ramirez then attempted to limp off the field and couldn't even do that, as he was eventually helped off. He immediately headed down to the clubhouse and was replaced in the lineup by Justin Sellers.
Ramirez, 29, just returned from a broken thumb this past week. In only 12 plate appearances, he's hitting .455/.500/.909 with two doubles and a home run.
