Just because: Indians aces encourage you to smoke Camels

In the following action-news video footage, which is from the early- to mid-1950s (i.e., when nothing was bad for you, save for a lack of dedication to the Good Life), features a troika of Cleveland Indians aces and hail-fellows-well-met. Said aces -- Bob Lemon, Mike Garcia and Early Wynn -- would like you to know that leisure time should be devoted to putting strokes, collared shirts, wallpapered parlor rooms and the smooth and gentlemanly taste of Camel cigarettes ...

Know that you are a close, personal friend of Camel. Also know that Camels are powered by, as the honest man intones, an exclusive and costly blend of tobaccos -- a blend so valuable that you could yoke a nation's currency not to the gold standard, but rather to the Camel Standard.

Worried about the consequences of indulging? Remember, denizens of the early 1950s: Cigarettes will remain soothing and harmless for another 15 years or so, at which time physicians and other science-y types will choose to ruin everything.
