The return of Indians outfielder Michael Bourn, who's been sidelined since April 14 with a deep finger laceration, is now in sight. MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports Bourn will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Monday night. Barring the unforeseen, Bourn will be activated from the DL after what Bastian terms "a handful of games." The upshot is that Bourn is on target to return to the Cleveland lineup inside of a week.

The 30-year-old Bourn, whom the Indians signed this offseason to a four-year, $48 million contract with a vesting option for 2017, is batting .333/.375/.600 in 10 games this season. For his career, Bourn owns an OPS+ of 92. The two-time Gold Glove winner ranks 10th among active major leaguers with 277 career stolen bases.
