UPDATE: Hanrahan left the game with right forearm tightness, the team announced. He will have an MRI on Tuesday and the team is undecided about who will take over as closer.

Hanrahan, 31, was recently activated off the DL after battling a hamstring injury. He allowed a solo homer to Brian Dozier on Monday, blowing a one-run lead. Half of his 20 pitches were strikes and it seemed pretty clear he was was having trouble locating. The trainer came out to talk and that's when he left the game.
Acquired from the Pirates during the offseason, Hanrahan came into Monday's game with a 9.45 ERA in 6 2/3 innings with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four). He is scheduled to become a free agent after the season.
The Red Sox have a deep bullpen, but no team can afford to lose two of its best relievers in one day. Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara figure to anchor the late innings if Hanrahan needs to miss any time.
