The Athletics announced on Friday that left-hander Brett Anderson, who's been on the DL since April 30, has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right foot. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Anderson will be re-evalutated in four weeks, which means, as Slusser notes, he won't pitch for Oakland for another two months or so.
The 24-year-old Anderson has pitched to a 6.21 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 1.93 K/BB ratio in 29 innings of work this season. For his career, Anderson owns an ERA+ of 112 across parts of five major-league seasons.
For the time being, Dan Straily (7.27 ERA in five starts) will likely remain in the A's rotation.
