After serving a 50-game suspension, Padres catcher Yasmani Grandal is back with the Padres and will be in the lineup batting sixth against the Mariners on Tuesday night. As a corresponding move, backup catcher John Baker has been shipped to Triple-A Tuscon, reports Corey Brock of Padres.com.

Grandal, 24, tested positive for performance-enhancing testosterone back in early November. At the time, he released the following statement:

"I apologize to the fans, my teammates, and to the San Diego Padres. I was disappointed to learn of my positive test and under the Joint Drug Program I am responsible for what I put into my body. I must accept responsibility for my actions and serve my suspension."

Grandal hit .297/.394/.469 with eight homers and 36 RBI in 60 games last season as a rookie. In nine games for Triple-A Tucson this season, Grandal is hitting .306/.342/.389 with three doubles and two RBI.

The best guess is Grandal gradually begins to get the majority of the starts behind the plate for the Padres. Current starter Nick Hundley is hitting .252/.299/.393 with three homers and 13 RBI, but he's faltered of late. He was hitting .329/.357/.544 at the end of April.
