With the 33rd overall pick of the ongoing 2013 First-Year Player Draft, the Yankees selected lefty Ian Clarkin out of James Madison High School in California. By all accounts, that was an excellent and canny pick by the Yanks. Of course, young Mr. Clarkin once harbored a seething hatred for those very Yankees ...

It's one thing to profess a hatred for the Yankees -- that's unremarkable enough. But it's something else to hate them to such an extent that their crushing defeat in the World Series moves you to tears of righteous jubilance. Something else entirely is to cop to this in your pre-draft interview not long before you are drafted by ... the Yankees.

As for Luis Gonzalez, he is no doubt enjoying this.
