The bottom-feeding Marlins offense gets a potential lift, as first baseman/outfielder Logan Morrison has been activated from the 60-day disabled list.

Last September, the 25-year-old Morrison underwent surgery on his right knee to repair the patellar tendon, and he's been sidelined ever since. Morrison dealt with the injury in some form or another for the entire 2012 season.

In that injury-compromised 2012 campaign, Morrison batted .230/.308/.399, but in 2011 he showed good power, as he slugged .468 and tallied 23 homers in 123 games. Morrison is expected to be in the lineup on Sunday and manning first base against the Mets.

In order to make room for Morrison on the active roster, the Marlins have placed outfielder Chris Coghlan on the 15-day DL with nerve irritation in his right calf. On the year, Coghlan is batting .277/.326/.415.
