With their 35th-round choice in the recent MLB First-Year Player Draft, the Astros chose right-hander Kacy Clemens, son of all-time great Roger Clemens.

However, as the Houston Chronicle notes, Kacy Clemens will opt to pitch for the University of Texas in Austin, where his father spent his college career, rather than the Astros, where his father spent three of his 24 major-league seasons.

"It was great to hear his name called and always an honor to be selected," Roger Clemens told the Chronicle. "His sights will be set on the ‘The University' to get his education and get the Horns back to Omaha!"

Kacy Clemens will again be eligible for the draft during his junior season or his 21st birthday, whichever comes first.
