Of course, the funny part of what transpired with reporters Monday afternoon is that Ramirez claimed he'd be ready to return in two days. And manager Don Mattingly heard about it, coming back with the following:
"We're learning not to listen to Hanley." (via latimes.com)
Probably a good idea, considering Ramirez declared himself ready to return and then reported stiffness two games after his return from the DL stint that ended June 4.
When Ramirez has been able to play this season, he's been productive. He's hitting .350/.391/.650, but that's in only 23 plate appearances, due to a torn thumb ligament to open the season and then the hamstring issue.
