As CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman first reported, the Blue Jays recently struck a deal with veteran right-hander Chien-Ming Wang, whom the Yankees not long ago released from a minor-league contract in order to allow him to sign elsewhere. Wang has now finalized his deal with Toronto and will start against the White Sox on Tuesday night in Chicago. As the Associated Press reports, Wang this season will be paid at a rate of $500,000 while in the major leagues and $90,000 while in the minors.

The 33-year-old sinker-baller owns a career ERA+ of 103 across parts of seven major-league seasons, but he's been much less effective since injuring his foot while running the bases in 2008 and then suffering a shoulder injury the following year. At Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre this season, he pitched to a 2.33 ERA in 58 innings.

As bounce-back opponents go, it's hard to find one more accommodating than the White Sox, who have one of baseball's worst offenses against right-handed pitching.
