Outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is day-to-day with left hamstring tightness, the Athletics announced. He was removed from Tuesday's game as a precaution after running out a ground ball in the first inning.
Cespedes, 27, missed a handful of games with a left hamstring issue last summer. He spent two weeks on the DL with hand problems back in April.
In 51 games this year, Cespedes is hitting .241/.308/.493 (118 OPS+) with 13 home runs. He hit .292/.356/.505 (137 OPS+) with 23 homers last year, good enough for second and tenth place finishes in the Rookie of the Year and MVP voting.
The Athletics have plenty of outfield depth even without Cespedes: Coco Crisp, Josh Reddick, Chris Young, Seth Smith and Brandon Moss are all on the active roster.
