MLB has announced the coaching staffs for next month's All-Star Game, with Terry Collins and Davey Johnson joining Bruce Bochy on the NL side while Robin Ventura and John Gibbons join Jim Leyland on the AL squad.

All four men selected to coaching staffs have ties to the Mets, who will host the the Midsummer Classic at Citi Field in a few weeks. Collins, of course, has managed the Mets since 2011. Johnson managed the team from from 1984-90 and was the helm for their last World Series championship in 1986. He calls the shots for the Nationals now.

Gibbons and Ventura both played for the Mets once upon a time. Gibbons, who currently manages the Blue Jays, appeared in 18 games with the Mets from 1984-86 before injuries derailed his promising career. Ventura hit .249/.359/.433 (110 OPS+) with the club from 1999-2001 and was part of their pennant-winning club in 2000. He currently manages the White Sox.

Bochy and Leyland will manage the two All-Star teams by virtue of managing last year's pennant winning Giants and Tigers, respectively.
