On Friday, veteran slugger Carlos Lee, who hasn't played in 2013, announced his retirement, reports ESPNDeportes. Lee steps away after parts of 14 seasons in the majors. His career included stints with the White Sox, Brewers, Rangers, Astros and Marlins.

Lee ends his playing days with some very respectable career numbers at the plate: .285/.339/.483, 113 OPS+, 358 homers, 469 doubles and 2,273 hits. Along the way, Lee made three All-Star teams and won a pair of Silver Slugger awards.

Lee made more than $130 million in salary during his playing career, according to Baseball-Reference data.
