Bad news for the already-hobbled Yankees, as catcher Francisco Cervelli has suffered a stress reaction in his throwing elbow and has been shut down for two weeks.

Cervelli had been working his way back from a broken right hand he suffered in late April, and his latest injury is probably the result of his altered throwing mechanics. As Andy McCullough of the Newark Star-Ledger notes, Cervelli, according to manager Joe Girardi, is now likely out until at least August.

The 27-year-old Cervelli had been hitting .269/.377/.500 at the time of his hand injury. Yankee catchers have struggled since Cervelli went down, batting .202/.259/.262 as a group over that span.
