Alex Rios was shipped from the White Sox to Rangers two days ago, with the official trade saying the White Sox would receive a player to be named later. At the time, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reported that the player in question was expected to be Leury Garcia.

Sunday, the White Sox officially announced that Garcia was indeed the player headed back to Chicago in the deal.

Garcia is a 22-year-old infielder with only 25 games of big-league experience. The prospect hit .264/.314/.409 with eight doubles, four triples, four homers and 12 stolen bases in 47 games for Triple-A Round Rock this season. He's spent most of his time in the minors at shortstop (400 games), but has also seen some time at second (58 games) and in the outfield (just nine games).

It's unlikely Garcia factors heavily into the White Sox plans this season and incumbent shortstop Alexei Ramirez is signed through the 2015 season with a club option for 2016.
