UPDATE: Trout told Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times that he did not feel a pop in his hamstring, "just a little grab." He hopes to play on Monday.

Angels outfielder Mike Trout left Sunday afternoon's game against the Astros with tightness in his right hamstring, the team announced. They didn't say anything regarding the severity of the injury or whether he would go for tests, but obviously they will play it safe with their franchise player.

Trout, 22, exited the game after flying out to center field in the fifth inning. He went 2-for-3 with a double before leaving, so he could have hurt himself running the bases or playing the outfield. Trout has never been on the DL in his career, Major Leagues or minors.

Prior to the injury, Trout was hitting .333/.430/.574 with 21 home runs and 28 steals. The 2-for-3 day means he had reached base safely in each of his last 40 games played. Trout came into Sunday leading baseball in both the FanGraphs (8.3) and Baseball-Reference versions of WAR (7.3).
