Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista left Tuesday afternoon's game with soreness in his left hip, the team announced. He was initially listed as game-to-game rather than day-to-day because Toronto is playing a doubleheader. After the second game of the doubleheader, the Blue Jays announced that he has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hip bone bruise.
Bautista, 32, missed a few days with ankle and lower back problems earlier this year. He missed most of last season due to a wrist injury that eventually required season-ending surgery. Coming into Tuesday's game, Bautista was hitting .259/.357/.499 (132 OPS+) with 28 home runs in 117 games.
The Blue Jays are currently without center fielder Colby Rasmus (oblique) and left fielder Melky Cabrera (knee), so their entire starting outfield is injured at the moment.
With those three out, look for Rajai Davis, Anthony Gose and Kevin Pillar to man the outfield.
