Braves outfielder Jason Heyward was hit by a 90 mph Jonathan Niese fastball in the side of the face on Wednesday afternoon. Despite the Mets-Braves rivalry, it's clear the plunking was unintentional.

In 94 games prior to Wednesday, the 24-year-old Heyward was hitting .254/.348/.426 (110 OPS+) with 13 home runs. He missed more than three weeks following an appendectomy early this season as well as a few games with a hamstring problem last month.
