Derek Jeter batting second in almost-normal Yankees lineup

Courtesy of Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, here's your official Yankees lineup for their Monday night encounter with the Blue Jays in Toronto ...

Yes, Derek Jeter is manning shortstop and batting second for the contending Yanks. Jeter has been sidelined since Aug. 2 because of a strained right calf and of course didn't make his 2013 debut until July 11 as a result of the broken ankle he suffered during the 2012 ALCS.

Worth noting: This will be first time that Jeter and firebrand teammate Alex Rodriguez have been in the lineup together since that fated Game 1 of the 2012 ALCS. About that only name that's missing from above is that of first baseman Mark Teixeira, who underwent season-ending wrist surgery in early July.

Too little, too late? The Yankees are hanging in there in admirable fashion, but gives them just a 10.4-percent chance of making the playoffs.
