During the last homestand in the legendary career of Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, the Yankees will become the first team in MLB history to honor an active player on their cap. Here's a better shot of the patch:

The special caps will be worn during Sunday's game against the Giants. Prior to the game, the Yankees will have a ceremony honoring the career of the game's greatest closer in history.

Rivera, 43, has an MLB record 652 career saves along with a 2.22 ERA and 204 ERA+ (best of all-time for pitchers with at least 1,000 innings pitched). He also has five World Series rings. His last game in Yankee Stadium -- unless the Yankees can make the playoffs and advance to the divisional round -- will be Thursday, Sept. 26 against the Rays.
