WATCH: Tigers mount ridiculous comeback, top White Sox in 12

Going into the bottom of the ninth in Detroit on Saturday night, the Tigers trailed the White Sox by a score of 6-0. They'd been dominated by Chicago ace Chris Sale for 7 2/3 innings, and, per FanGraphs's win-expectancy tracker, they had a 0.3 percent chance of winning the game.

Then this happened ...

After the first five batters, the Tigers had in essence "hit for the cycle" as a team. They went on to plate six runs in the inning, and in doing so tied the score and pushed the game into extras.

That brings us to the home half of the 12th, when this happened ...

To repeat, a 0.3 percent chance of winning. That's the beauty of having no clock -- keep hitting, and nothing's impossible. The Tigers, who now have AL Central crown within reach, are but the lastest team to remind us of that.
