VIDEO: Loney's ridiculous double play helps Rays escape second

Rays manager Joe Maddon had one of the quickest hooks I've ever seen with starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson in Tuesday's Game 4 of the ALDS against the Red Sox. After a 1-2-3 first, Hellickson allowed two walks and a single to load the bases.

Maddon removed him in favor of veteran reliever Jamey Wright, who recorded a strikeout and then gave up a line shot to Stephen Drew. Rays first baseman James Loney made a leaping catch and then doubled Mike Napoli off second.

With the game currently a 1-0 Rays lead through six, the incredible fortune the Rays had on this play is looming very large. A few feet difference on the liner would have had the Red Sox up at least 1-0, probably 2-0 and who knows how the rest of the inning turns out. Baseball's a funny game.
