MORE: NLCS Game 6 GameTracker
ST. LOUIS -- On Friday night, the healthy competition got started even before Game 6 of the NLCS did. As you're about to see, Joe Kelly of the Cardinals and Scott Van Slyke of the Dodgers were each equally determined to be the last one standing in respectful observation of the National Anthem.
How long did their battle rage? Long enough that plate ump Greg Gibson finally had to tell them to knock it off so that the darn game could begin. Witness the battle of wills ...
It would seem that Van Slyke narrowly prevailed, but Kelly's degree-of-difficulty score is clearly higher since he was standing farther from the sanctuary of the dugout.
Simply put, we may never know who loves this country more.
