Cardinals' Michael Wacha named NLCS MVP

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer

MORE: Game 6 quick hits

Cardinals rookie Michael Wacha has been named MVP of the 2013 NLCS.

The Cardinals, of course, prevailed over the Dodgers in six games, and Wacha, who started Games 2 and 6, didn't allow a single run in 13 2/3 innings pitched in the series. Over those 13 2/3 innings, he struck out 13 and walked just two. Wacha becomes the sixth Cardinal to win the award.

The 22-year-old right-hander pitched to a 2.78 ERA in the regular season and had been even better than that after being restored to the rotation in early September.
