BOSTON - Major League Baseball continues to partner with Stand Up To Cancer in efforts to raise money for the fight against the deadly disease and a public service announcement will be made during Game 4 of the World Series -- starring Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia and Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval.
There's also going to be a new smart phone app, shown above by Mr. Pedroia.
More from the press release:
A new smart phone app provides users everywhere with an easy way to honor loved ones affected by cancer through multiple social media channels. With the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) app, available for iPhone® through the App StoreSM, users can create custom photo placards naming the mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, siblings, spouses, and friends in whose honor they are taking a stand against cancer. Users can also share their placards on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook directly from the SU2C app. MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and internet company of Major League Baseball, developed the app for SU2C, an initiative that raises funds to accelerate collaborative research that gets new therapies to patients quickly. Major League Baseball has committed more than $35 million to the initiative since its inception.
