VIDEO: Koji Uehara picks off Kolten Wong for final out of Game 4

By Mike Axisa | Baseball Writer

This has become both the sloppiest and one of the most memorable World Series in recent history. Following the crazy obstruction call walk-off in Game 3, the Red Sox took Game 4 from the Cardinals when Koji Uehara picked pinch-runner Kolten Wong off first base for the final out. Here's the play:

Man, that is inexcusable. The Cardinals were down two runs and Carlos Beltran was at the plate representing the tying run. Wong shouldn't be thinking about going anywhere. He has to give Beltran a chance to hit in that situation. Either his lead was too big or he didn't have Uehara's move down -- he threw over a few times that inning -- but it really doesn't matter, though. That's something that absolutely can not happen. Rookie mistake? Sure, but a disastrous one.

The best-of-7 World Series is tied at two and is now guaranteed to return to Fenway Park for a Game 6 on Wednesday.
