The first two and a half innings of World Series Game 6 were all about blown chances. Both teams were leaving runners on base early on, but Shane Victorino changed all of that with one swing of the bat in the bottom of third. He gave the Red Sox a 3-0 lead with his two-out double off the Green Monster:
Victorino advanced to third on the throw home and was stranded, but that doesn't really matter. A three-run lead is rather huge considering how much the Cardinals have struggled offensively. Six innings is a long way to go though, Game 6 ain't over yet.
By the way, that's the first hit Michael Wacha has allowed with the bases loaded in the big leagues.
