GM Billy Beane and the Athletics on Friday settled a quartet of looming roster issues when they exercised team options for 2014 on center fielder Coco Crisp and lefty Brett Anderson and declined options on catcher Kurt Suzuki and outfielder Chris Young.

Crisp, who'll now make $7.5 million for the 2014 season, batted .261/.335/.444 this past season with 22 homers and 21 steals. That, of course, is in addition to providing his usual plus defense in center. Friday was also Crisp's 34th birthday.

As for the 25-year-old Anderson, he missed more than 100 games in 2013 because of a severe ankle sprain. For his career, he's pitched to a 3.81 ERA (109 ERA+) across parts of five major-league seasons. Of his 84 career appearances, 74 have been starts. Anderson will be paid $8 million in 2014.

Meanwhile, the A's will pay $1.5-million and $650,000 buyouts on Young and Suzuki, respectively. They're now free agents.
