Reports: Mitch Williams, Lenny Dykstra had confrontation in mall

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

Mitch Williams and Lenny Dykstra were teammates on the 1993 Phillies. The same Phillies that lost the World Series on this play:

That would be Williams coughing up one of the most famous home runs in World Series history, losing the series in six games.

On the series, Williams blew two of his three save opportunities while allowing six earned runs on five hits, posting a 20.25 ERA and 3.38 WHIP. This evidently doesn't sit well with Dykstra, because two years ago he told a Philadelphia TV station that he talks to everyone from that '93 Phillies team "except Mitch."

"After what he put me through ... torture, [bleeping] torture. The guy hit barrel after barrel. He lost the World Series." (via philly.com)

Fast-forward to this past weekend, when Williams, Dykstra and Darren Daulton were signing autographs at the Granite Run Mall. According to dozens of people in attendance -- via Twitter and blogs like crossingbroad.com -- Dykstra went to shake Williams' hand, and Williams refused, phyiscally pushing his hand away.

There's video of the aftermath, in which Williams said "all you do is run your f****** head." Presumably, he means "run your mouth" and is angry about the comments Dykstra has made.

Considering that Williams works for MLB Network and Dykstra has gone through lots of legal and monetary problems, I'm not sure why "Wild Thing" can't just take the high road.
