It's a fully expected move and nothing more than a procedural technicality, but it's noteworthy nonetheless: The Brewers have reinstated outfielder Ryan Braun.

Braun was of course suspended for the final 65 games of the 2013 regular season because of his role in the Biogenesis/PED scandal -- a role to which he admitted. Because of the suspension, Braun had been on the restricted list, but his punishment ended on Oct. 31, at which point he was returned to the Brewers' 40-man roster (source: Adam McCalvy, MLB.com).

Braun, who'll turn 30 on Nov. 17, is coming off a season in which he batted .298/.372/.498 (134 OPS+) with nine home runs in 61 games. He was voted NL MVP in 2011 and led the NL with 41 homers in 2012. Braun is signed through the 2020 season with a mutual option for 2021.
