Baseball's hot stove season has yet to begin in earnest, but Thursday provided a few nuggets worth passing along. Let's have a quick recap ...

Cubs: No surprise here, but they made it official with new manager Rick Renteria, as they signed him to a three-year pact.

Rangers: Signed lefty Martin Perez, who was already under team control in terms of service time, to a four-year contract with three option years included.

Athletics: Former A's lefty Dallas Braden, who's missed almost the last three full seasons with shoulder problems, intends to make a comeback in 2014, reports Tim Brown of Yahoo!.

Red Sox: SS Stephen Drew is reportedly set to turn down Boston's qualifying offer and instead test the market.

Royals: Per Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, right-hander Ervin Santana is seeking a five-year pact that will pay him in excess of $100 million.
