UPDATE: Not much doing here:

According to Howard Eskin of CBS Philadelphia, the Phillies and Blue Jays are talking about a major trade that would send outfielder Jose Bautista to Philadelphia and a package centered around outfielder Domonic Brown back to Toronto.

Bautista, 33, has established himself as one of the top power hitters in the game today. He's twice led the majors in homers, and since breaking out in 2010 he's averaged 48 home runs per 162 games played. Last season, Bautista batted .259/.358/.498 with 28 homers in 118 games. Bautista is signed through 2015 at $14 million per with a $14-million team option for 2016. In other words, that's a team-friendly contract that only adds to his trade value.

As for the 26-year-old Brown, he's coming off a 2013 season in which, finally given consistent playing time, he put up a 123 OPS+ with 27 homers in 139 games. As Eskin's tweet suggests, other pieces would also be headed the Jays' way.

Also, as Eskin points out, Bautista is also capable of playing third, at least on a semi-regular basis. So the Phillies may have him in mind as a possible solution there. That, however, might be a stretch, given that third hasn't been Bautista's primary position since 2008.
