UPDATE: Jon Heyman reports the two-year deal is for $5 million.

The Reds and outfielder Skip Schumaker have agreed to a two-year contract, pending a physical, sources tell Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.

The left-handed-hitting Schumaker, age 33, is coming off a 2013 season in which he batted .263/.332/.332 (90 OPS+) in 356 plate appearances for the Dodgers. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 94 across parts of nine major-league seasons. In addition to boasting reasonable on-base skills against right-handed pitching, Schumaker is also capable of manning all three outfield positions and second base.

Schumaker was originally drafted by the Cardinals when Reds GM Walt Jocketty filled the same role in St. Louis.
