Free agent relief pitcher Javier Lopez has been a very productive reliever for the Giants since joining the club in 2010, and he is staying put for the next three seasons.

According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, Lopez and the Giants have agreed to a three-year contract worth $13 million. The contract is pending a physical, which will likely take place next week.

Lopez, 36, had a 1.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings last season. He's also among the best in the majors at stranding inherited runners.

Lopez, however, needs to be used mostly against left-handers. In his career, he's allowing a .212/.295/.301 line to lefties and .301/.386/.428 to righties. In the past three seasons, he's been even harder on lefties, too.
