The Red Sox have acquired right-handed reliever Burke Badenhop from the Brewers in exchange for minor-league lefty Luis Ortega.

Badenhop, 30, pitched to a 3.47 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 3.50 K/BB last season in 62 1/3 innings for Milwaukee. For his career, he owns an ERA+ of 103 and, thanks to a sinker he throws a healthy majority of the time, a groundball percentage of 54.6. Right-handed batters own a .641 lifetime OPS against Badenhop, while lefties check in at .792, so he's really more of a "righty specialist." Badenhop is eligible for salary arbitration.

As for Ortega, the 20-year-old has a 2.25 ERA and just three home runs allowed in 96 innings across two seasons of rookie-level ball.
