The Blue Jays, coming off a tremendously disappointing 2013 campaign, are in the market for starting pitching, and, according to Bob Elliot of the Toronto Sun, they're willing to part with center fielder Colby Rasmus in order to fortify the rotation. As Elliot notes, the Jays have already had discussions with two teams regarding Rasmus, though nothing has yet materialized.

Rasmus, 27, is coming off a 2013 season in which he batted a productive .276/.338/.501 (127 OPS+) with 22 homers in 118 games. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 103 across parts of five major-league seasons.

As for that Toronto rotation, despite the conspicuous additions of R.A. Dickey, Mark Buehrle and Josh Johnson, last season the corps ranked 14th in the AL in both starters' ERA and starters' WAR. Presently, the Jays are slated to open 2014 with J.A. Happ and Kyle Drabek at the back end, so they could certainly use additional depth or an upgrade.
