CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Giants and outfielder Mike Morse have agreed to terms on a one-year contract for 2014 worth $6 million.

Morse, age 31, is coming off a 2013 season in which he batted .215/.270/.381 for the Mariners and Orioles. In 2011, though, Morse tallied 31 homers for the Nationals. For his career, he owns a slash line of .281/.334/.473 (119 OPS+) with 83 home runs in 573 games.

In San Francisco, Morse would ideally become the right-handed half of a platoon with Gregor Blanco. On that point, it's worth noting that Morse, for his career, owns a line of .284/.340/.479 against lefties. In reality, though, the Giants are likely to make him an every-day player. Even if Morse's bat isn't in a state of deep decline, his glove-work will be a problem.
