As soon as the calendar flips to 2014, the focus will shift to spring training and next season. There are still roughly six weeks of offseason left to go though and a lot will happen during that time. Not a lot happened on Monday, however. Here's a recap of the day's hot stove news.

Pirates: Acquired 1B Chris McGuiness from the Rangers for RHP Miles Mikolas, both teams announced.

SIGNINGS

Nationals: Re-signed IF Will Rhymes to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, his representatives announced.

Blue Jays: Still interested in acquiring a starting pitcher. Their interest level in RHP Masahiro Tanaka is unclear. (Toronto Star)
